@ElectroBOOMGuy Do we though? Reddit usually discourages the use of up/down as agree/disagree, yet doesn't stop people from still doing it; even on very serious threads with experts on both sides of an argument. What we truly need is to stop using social media as polls. Encourage disengagement.

@dvogled Interesantno. Ja mislio da se ljudi zavitlavaju kada su predlagali da političke stranke treba da budu nalik plenumima… Dosta nepromišljeno tph. Nije isto 100-200 odlučuju o konkretnoj akciji, i više 10na 1000 bira ideologiju. Takva stranka bi vrlo brzo postala klijentelistička.

It's easy enough to pinpoint bullshit; I'm capable enough to dissect poor arguments and call out oversimplifications. But making a “true” statement about something without prior knowledge in an area quickly becomes nigh-on-impossible when there's over 100 papers on the subject!

My personal hell is getting overly obsessed about some controversial take, and then delving into research paper after paper after thread after thread after video after video, ending up just being frustrated, tired, and still concluding just that “we still don't know the answer”.

Case in point: Someone could have a look at this video and (wrongly) conclude these people are extremists/vandals/etc. But in context, these people are being shut out by regime lackeys from attending a PUBLIC debate regarding whether their lands will be excavated by mining corps.

@accursedfarms UK citizens should definitely continue the push as much as possible; encouraging local campaigning within communities etc. Thou I am more interested in the ECI one: What steps are being taken to bring the collection back on track? It's already February; things need to be pushed.

Watching this video, and reading a comment listing many other scandals, I've come to the conclusion that, there has been sooooo much horrible tosh in the last decade and a half, all solely the fault of don's ilk. Telling that I can't even remember 'em all!
