A luxury bathhouse and spa plans to open in the West Loop next year.

I voted no on this $830M bond bc we must be cautious with our city’s finances. I hoped the cmte would consider a smaller offering. Taking on massive debt w credit downgrade & federal $ threats is reckless. If we don’t prioritize fiscal health, every other challenge will suffer!

Last week, I joined @AftrSchoolMttrs for a tour of their new youth center in the Cabrini neighborhood. This new facility will provide programs for 1,500 Chicago teens each year when it opens this fall!

It’s inappropriate for the Mayor’s office and Cultural Affairs to be using taxpayer dollars to promote hate speech. This is the latest in an unfortunate pattern of anti-semitic actions in this administration.
A majority of the city’s alders are calling on Mayor Brandon Johnson to order the removal of a piece of art at the Chicago Cultural Center, arguing it’s antisemitic.

Given this is in the 34th Ward, I’ve already reached out to @ChicagoDCASE to request the exhibit’s removal. Now, we’re waiting on DCASE and the Mayor’s Office to do the right thing and take action.
