Tonight what I saw at Collinsville High School was a true definition of a team. I have never seen five guys execute as well as those five kids did tonight. Not all of them stuff the stat sheet but they don’t win without each one doing his job. Couldn’t be more proud of that team

Collinsville with a tough overtime victory over Desmet 50 to 47. Skeet Smith with the biggest overtime you will see. The shortest guy on the court proved to be the biggest as he scores all 8 points In overtime including the three at the buzzer to win it.

Headed to one of my favorite gyms in Illinois tonight for the Chester Invitational Tournament. Two games on tap first up is a consolation semi game between Perryville (MO) and Ste Genevieve (MO) Valle Catholic. Game two is a semi between New Athens and Waterloo (Gibault).

Ray’Sean Taylor lead the Pyramid tourney in scoring with 105 points. Harrison Marshall chipped in 72. While Skeet Smith had 25 steals and 43 points for the tourney. Somehow the 3rd best player in the tourney was snubbed by the all tourney team. Each player played less than 22 mpg
