If PhDs left en masse, it would cause a country-wide university staffing crisis. There would be nobody to teach undergraduate labs, correct lab reports, deliver tutorials, and to a lesser extent - even lectures.
We are workers. We deserve a living wage.
Today we call on the Irish government to raise PhD stipends so that we can afford to live in the midst of the cost-of-living crisis! We are currently not even paid minimum wage

I have to get up at 6.30am to be in to college for 10am tomorrow. I'll get a bus home at 5.30pm and probably wont be home until 7.30pm at the earliest.

I think the majority of people are happy to do this (I've done so this week) - if antigen tests were affordable/free/easy to access. A 5 pack of antigen tests in my local pharmacy is 30 quid?? It's just not sustainable or viable for most of the student population
Also: NPHET wants people engaging in "higher-risk activities" - "for example, attendance at bars, restaurants, nightclubs, the cinema, multihousehold home visits, participating in indoor contact sports, and car sharing with people from other households" - to take 2 antigens a wk
