Ok, so a little news ...
I have written and published a new book. It's a history of Group One racing in New Zealand, done my way.
I've launched a website too:
I'm hoping it will be available for delivery in August 🤞
Hardcover, 360 pages.

Elephant beaten for the first time ... but at the hands of an All-Star Mile runner-up. Super prospect.
And what about the run of The Chosen One. Cups contender again.
Small but pretty cool milestone at Ruakaka yesterday as Dancarina's win brought up 500 wins as a jockey/agent partnership for
@opie_bosson
and me, 41 of them at G1 level.
So good, Pennyweka!
Becomes the third NZ filly to win a G1 in Australia this season after Legarto & Prowess.
Wins the Australian Oaks for trainer Jim Wallace and the 86-strong ownership group. Great result!
Missed a Derby on Saturday but got to play at my first touch nationals for Counties 50s, the same tournament at Palmerston North as my oldest son Hamish, who represented Waikato u20s mixed and gets his first NZ singlet in May.
Rapt for Opie Bosson. So poised despite a tricky draw to guide Melody Belle to G1 Empire Rose Stakes success for

Really saddened to learn of the passing of Lorraine Anderton; stayed with her and Brian when I was writing the White Robe Lodge chapter of Where Champions Are Born and she was a great host. My heart goes out to her family.
He No Opilio's Wairoa Cup win at Hastings yesterday was the 500th winner I have booked for

Happy to ride her coat-tails to five Group One wins and two premierships.
Aegon has run the quickest closing 600m/400/200 of the Memsie, finishing in 34.38/22.83/11.56
He went from ninth for fourth over the last 200m.

Press release says
@TheInformantNZ
will cease publishing. Real shame; it was doing good things for the industry, an independent voice keeping the major players honest. Had a strong, credible base of established racing journalists. Thoughts are definitely with them at this time.
Have just spoken to Michael McNab in recovery in Waikato Hospital from today's nasty fall.
X-rays have cleared him of any fractures but he's nursing a sore back.
He's with family and wanted to thank everyone who aided him after the incident.

@monkeyrock1
@GuerinSports
Our thoughts are with everyone involved in this incident. Nobody sets out to cause harm to any other rider.
Our entire sport is riding alongside Taiki right now, urging him to pull through.
What a return from The Chosen One!
Super effort from the Sydney Cup runner-up as he sets sail for the Melbourne Cup.
Really looking forward to watching him this spring!
Kevin Gray has just made a life member of the Waverley Racing Club. It was clear how much it meant to him. Former president and stalwart trainer, 29 apprentices.
Really special interview with "The Cuz", Michael Walker.
He talks frankly about only operating at 60 per cent of his brain capacity and how he has come to accept his situation.
An honest, raw and compelling interview, a privilege to conduct.
Rapt for

@otakimaorirc
Gun jockey with a sense of timing to do it in a stakes race! Pleased to have been part of the team for the past four years.
Absolute star. Had the privilege of doing his rides for several seasons, landing five g1s and a premiership. He would certainly have become NZ's first jockey to ride 200 winners had he not fallen off a cliff while pighunting. He was 173 wins with 2-1/2 months of the season left.
Probabeel becomes NZ's first winner in the G1 Caulfield Stakes since Ocean Park in 2012.

@nzracingnews
Just spoke to Allan Sharrock. He said he spoke to NZTR and the RIB this week expressing concern that forecast rain on a hard track for Trentham today was a "recipe for disaster". That his concerns fell on deaf ears has him ropable to say the least.
Another landmark achievement for
@lisaallpress37
as the star Kiwi jockey becomes the first woman to win a race in Saudi Arabia on her way to finishing second equal in the jockeys series behind Mike Smith.
Proud day for NZ racing.

He also won both $1 million Karaka Million races at Ellerslie in January.
Utterly dominant season; looks assured of NZ jockey of the year honours.
Craig Grylls' day so far:
* Flies himself and Wiremu Pinn to today's Ruakaka meeting, landing on the home straight to make waves on social media
* Wins the first on Macs
* Rides $1 million Karaka Million hope Follow Your Dreams in an exhibition gallop
*Wins race two on Zoltan
Pretty cool personal milestone at Cambridge today: Lucky Bay became the 700th winner I can claim to have booked for Opie Bosson.
There have been 52 Group One winners among them. Such a privilege to have worked with the best in the business.
Cambridge trainer Andrew Campbell has officially retired champion galloper Werther.
He'd progressed well since his return from Hong Kong but an injury setback has meant an end to his comeback.
Hong Kong horse of the year and a true international star.

La Crique -- Levante -- Imperatriz -- Babylon Berlin -- Maven Belle -- Bonny Lass -- Dragon Leap etc
Super race in store
@TeRapaRacing
on Saturday for the G1 BCD Group Sprint.
Short let-up now for Opie Bosson but what a season!
🔴369 rides: 91 wins & 93 placings
🔴Eight Group 1 wins, five in Australia
🔴Stakes earnings of $9.97 million
🔴No.4 on the Longines World's Best Jockey list

Funny old times but it shows what we've been missing. Would love to see us return to the old norm!
@TAB_Racing
Just ventured into the jockeys room at Otaki; five jockeys in there Bradley, Allan, Hannam, Johnson, Moseley.
None of them under 50!
I asked whether the young ones had been moved on! The reply was they had 260+ years between them. Great to have these guys still riding.
How well is Bostonian going? Closed strongly for second in the $A1m George Ryder, with Te Akau Shark third in behind winner Dream Force.
TAS maybe looking for 2000m now?
She's back!
@AlyshaCollett
has her first ride in NZ for more than a year and since her fall in Singapore last year when she rides at Pukekohe tomorrow. A pleasure to work with on

this year. Let's hope she's on the other side of the microphone post-race!
Melody Belle's time of 1:33.88 broke Jimmy Choux's previous Windsor Park Plate race record of 1:34.05 set in 2011.
She wasn't far from Greene Street's 1600m track record of 1:33.6 set in October 1998.

New project has finally all come together.
We're about to hit send on the files to our printer of a New Zealand history of Group One racing.
Two years in the making, so pretty satisfying to get to this point.
