We are disappointed by the Trump administration’s revocation of TPS for Venezuela. The extension would protect nearly 600,000 Venezuelans in the U.S. from being deported to dangerous conditions. This is an attempt to gut humane legal immigration programs.

The Laken Riley Act is a xenophobic attack on immigrants, fueling racial profiling and criminalization. By signing it into law, Trump escalates his anti-immigrant agenda, endangering millions, stripping due process, and tearing families apart.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was extended for Sudan for 18 months, beginning 4/20/25 and ending 10/19/26. Current TPS beneficiaries must re-register during the 60-day re-registration period, 1/17/25, through 3/18/25.

ACT is disheartened by Congress’s passage of the #LakenRileyAct, a dangerous anti-immigrant bill that undermines due process, expands mandatory detention—even for unproven charges—and allows children to face indefinite detention. We oppose this attack on immigrant communities.

ACT stands firmly against the Laken Riley Act (S.5). This bill endangers immigrant families, threatens TPS holders, and undermines due process. It’s a pathway to mass detention and deportation—not safety. We call on all Senators to reject this harmful legislation.
