Bagged a Masters degree in General Surgery from the Uni of Edinburgh with the aid of the commonwealth scholarship. Secured the FWACS in General Surgery few weeks after. It was far from being a smooth journey but i am grateful to Almighty Allah.

My father loved this country. He dedicated 40years of his life to the Nigerian health care system. He trained Doctors and Surgeons with his sweat and blood. When it mattered the most did the health care system fail him? Your guess is as good as mine.

As a doctor if all you do during the strike is to eat, watch BBN during the day & supplement it with FWWC at night. You are not helping yourself chief. This is the time for personal development. Engage in that research, prepare for those exams, apply for those conferences etc.

If you are middle aged and you are having symptoms of stomach ulcer for the first time in your life. That doctor is not helping you by giving you Omeprazole and gestid and sending you home. Pls insist on having an endoscopy done.

We need the same facilities available at Lagoon hosp to be available at LUTH, UCH, OAUTHC and the rest of the understaffed, under equipped tertiary hospitals. So that the average Nigerian who pay out of pocket for healthcare can get the best of service.

I always tell colleagues, for you to be the best version of yourself as a doctor practicing in Nigeria. You need at least 3 months to a year of training abroad. You really need to see how things are being done in the proper way.
