comes in hot, starts initiatives, re-traces the steps of and learns all the lessons the existing team learned over the previous year, loses momentum, arrives at the same dead-end they were hired to fix, moves on to another struggling company (maybe with a bump in title)
new in — immersive space + head-tracking-relative gamepad = passthrough visionpro platforming! feels good :)
(thx
@KenneyNL
for the brilliant starter project)
learning how to use
@godotengine
nav meshes & nav agents to add evil spider enemies. still figuring out exactly what this game is! there aren't any adventure old-school-zelda-like games built specifically for Vision Pro yet, so that's the general direction.
@NickADobos
streaming Godot meshes and textures to RealityKit - repo coming soon! basically: make a scene in Godot and it'll run (with gestures etc) in a VisionOS volume.
@kevinwatters
and i are working on getting it into somewhat usable shape for other folks this week.
Fish Chat is real! It's a silly game where you control your fish by tilting your head and open your mouth to eat falling food. I'll be hanging out in here for the next hour or so - if you have a Vision Pro, come say hi.
✅ send the ball in random directions
✅ speed up the ball on each hit
✅ add a score
i think it qualifies as a game now! officially my first vision os game 📕
ok! starting a thread of everything in the Vision Pro app store under the search "games" (currently 106 apps in there). in no particular order, but if you're a dev - reply with your game and i'll try to get to it sooner than later.
now first up...
Happy to announce DreamFusion, our new method for Text-to-3D!
We optimize a NeRF from scratch using a pretrained text-to-image diffusion model. No 3D data needed!

What are the alternatives to RealityKit and Unity?
A new venture often brings new problems, but that didn't stop Adam Watters from sticking with his idea of making games using open source engines. As co-founder of Threezy Studio, Adam chose Godot to create game content for the
lol i captured a spatial video from on stage after the demo - it worked pretty well! now any time i need a confidence boost i can relive the moment and feel important (... maybe that's an app idea 🤔)
psyched for this experiment!
if you're curious about making games for visionOS with Godot, come join us next friday.

Planning to try every made-for-Vision game in the app store tonight, but so far, my favorite thing is Lego Builders Journey by
@LightBrickGames
. The controls feel natural, it's beautiful, and playing it is super relaxing. 👏

5) Where’s Ploppy by
@michael_temper
- extremely well done “spot the thing” game that makes good use of 3D space. This is one to show your kids if you have them! $9.99 - well worth it - support an indie dev blazing the trail on AVP.
our app is still fundamentally broken in many ways (level editor, camera, dialogue text) AND STILL players are finding creative ways to tell stories in it 🥹
Thrilled to announce Luma’s $20M Series A led by
@AmplifyPartners
. We believe 3D is the most powerful creative medium, and our mission is to build AI to democratize it. The future is interactive, generative, it’s 3D. More here:
Woke up this morning thinking about voice interfaces... I never use them. Most common way I've seen other people use them is, "Alexa, set a timer for 10 minutes". Does anyone on here do more complicated stuff with voice? I know some people like to dictate text messages.
maybe i'm late with this observation, but... part of what makes generative models fun (and addicting) is the uncertainty. they're like creative slot machines
gpt can do content moderation.
we needed a simple way to filter out age-inappropriate usernames that muck up the vibes in our ugc/social game.
made a quick site to test it out.
1) I did two 3D puzzles in
@PuzzlingPlaces
last night on my couch. Gave me that "one more piece" puzzle feeling, and I left the experience feeling chilled out. Great example of an app that uses the native spatial gestures well - placing pieces feels like magic. 10/10 recommend.
i want to print out the newsletters i subscribe to without hitting a print button. i want them to just show up in my printer tray. does anyone else want this?
@nikitabier
++ if anyone doesn't know this... you can promote content on tiktok for $10 a day. terrible way to grow an app, perfectly good way to test.

3) What the Golf from
@tribandtweets
is just as delightful as it was for iOS. Super cool how they mix 2D levels with fully 3D volumetric levels. I just played for about 30 minutes straight. Another 10/10. Side note: trying these games - my spatial gestures skills are improving.
busiest night in multijam so far! kids are starting to really bump into each other and interact. anyone out there with experience moderating online spaces i could talk to? would be great to hear what we'll probably mess up in advance
First visionOS Devs meetup a success! Got to try
