@_consistentgolf Exactly! 3 hour rounds with an hour for drinks and BSing is exactly it. If the round goes 4.5-5 hours I'm not really wanting to sit around long.

@_consistentgolf You wouldn't think. I always wonder if, as a walker who always just goes directly to my ball unless its directly in front of someone else, I look look like a jerk who doesn't want to be a part of the group to these people.

@golfinklings @MidwestGolfJake @fnf2017 @Golfingbrock @iamdiesel18 @forestdunesgolf I remember the feeling of dread on that tee box. I was already reeling from such a different style of golf and that flag felt like it might as well be 10 miles away.

@katynugent42 @BryanTweed16 @HawkIhm Fantastic answer. Every time I go back to Wichita it makes me sad the state Mac (and the other munis) are in. Playing those local courses when I first moved out there and didn’t know anyone was what brought me back to the game.

@BryanTweed16 @oneputt56 I don’t remember the specifics. But it was Blackfoot Golf Course. My family played every Sunday, so a lot of time with my grandpa, dad and uncles. They all taught me different aspects, but the biggest thing I remember is my grandpa teaching me to truly love the game. #golfchat

@BryanTweed16 Obvious but Tiger. It was so cool as someone who was already into golf at 8-10 years old to have someone come along and make golf cool. To just see the game change like that as I leaned the really love the game was amazing.

@Back9Ben @MyGolfSpy For rec golfers I think this is a good idea. But if you play comps or gamble with buddies, you need to learn to embrace these moments. You may fail at first, but eventually you get used to it & thrive. But I agree that you DO NOT tell someone else if they are in that position.

@GrassyGolfPicks @Back9Ben @MyGolfSpy I remember when I did it. Same thing. Needed par on 18. Perfect drive, conservative approach, 2-putt from 25 feet. Still have the ball on my desk at home.

@GrassyGolfPicks @Back9Ben @MyGolfSpy Stepping up and doing the thing is the best feeling in sports. Well done. That celebration had to be epic.

@MyGolfSpy Don’t chase birdies. Play disciplined and do everything possible to avoid doubles, including accepting bogey as a good option.

@Heritagecricket Read this. And/or take a couple lessons and repeat the drills your coach gives.

Is this the most ironic post ever?
Here’s why having a rational conversation doesn’t work in CA CA uses 1.5-1.7 mil barrels of oil a day. CA produces 400k yet has more than enough to be self reliant. Instead CA buys from Iraq and other countries to supply the need. It costs more, is dirtier and burns more pollutants in the air, needs to be shipped around the world in cargo ships that pollutes the air and has a possibility to spill more oil exponentially into the oceans then the pipeline with safety valves which far exceeds the requirements (SOC Sable offshore). This is a case of idiots wanting what “sounds” good rather than is good for the environment. The govt needs to see the big picture and do what’s best for the state and country and stand up to this incompetence, however the CCC (CA coastal commission) is made up of said idiots 🤦♂️🤷♂️

I’m in this “middle” right now and trying to figure out how much I can put into the game. Balancing family, health, budget, and time is tough. I’m very competitive so the idea of “settling” where I am hurts my soul. But I also have to be realistic.
You have to decide if you want to get better at this game, or just play. Getting caught in the middle is problematic. For about a decade I wasn’t able to play much golf, but still expected to perform to a standard that wasn’t realistic. It made a lot of rounds unpleasant. You don’t HAVE to try to improve to enjoy this game. And it might not be realistic due to constraints on how often you can play or practice. In fact, I know many golfers who I think have way more fun being at peace with that decision. Something to think about - we all have different circumstances. But I think one of the great things about golf is that you can enjoy the game on your own terms, you just need to be clear on what they are!
