@texasrunnerDFW @profstonge I think this is true, however, I think the majority of Americans a) understand the position we're in as a country, financially speaking, and b) realize that pain will be necessary, whether expected or unexpected, in order to change course.

@MartinStrayd @neutralneutron @FoMaHun Good! I'm very interested to see what happens. What I love about what marcell is doing is that he is pursuing truth; all that matters is what is actually true.

@MartinStrayd @neutralneutron @FoMaHun Chemistry is figuring out how to make the stone. Engineering is how to make enough of it to produce megaliths. So, I think we agree with one another, but at some point it become an engineering scaleup problem, not a chemistry problem.

@neutralneutron @FoMaHun that and proof of scalability; its one thing to make a small rock, another to make a megalithic structure.

@BrittNotABot @acnewsitics I don't think so, jobs are plentiful (unemployment rate less than 5%) and if you want to work, there is work to do.

@BrittNotABot @acnewsitics Do you follow WARN notices in the private sector? Hundreds of thousands of people lose their jobs every year to layoffs and RIFs. Some of those people receive severance packages and many of them find new jobs within months.

@BrittNotABot @acnewsitics Yes, the banks can handle 60,000 people losing their jobs.

@acnewsitics Straight-forwardly, this is the real world and it happens in the private sector all of the time. Why should govt work be different?

@bootsnkatzen @CynicalPublius They barely know how to use computers, most of them, so X is scary or completely foreign.

@bootsnkatzen @CynicalPublius This is spot on - I have a coworker in his 70s, gets all of his news from mainstream media and believes they wouldn't lie to him. I try to show him but to no avail, he just can't bring himself to think another way.

@roddreher It may be a terrible appointment (I agree that it is), but anyone who doesn't want to listen to or follow her, is free to do so. I don't understand the vitriol.
