It's Mother Tongue month!
Khoekhoegowab lessons from indigenous speakers. Khoekhoegowab is spoken in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Thusnelda & Khoeseb are primary school teachers in Namibia where this is a common language taught up to university. It's the mother tongue of the president of Namibia.

Multilingualism and bilingual education is necessary for our country. Children must be able to access education in their mother-tongue. This is a crucial one as we celebrate Mother-Tongue month. Most leading nations use their indigenous languages for education.
We are a little bit chuffed, to be honest. President @CyrilRamaphosa has acknowledged the significance of implementing of Mother Tongue-Based Education (MTbBE). Beginning of this year, Grade 4 learners are being taught Maths, Natural Science and Technology in their mother tongue. This is the new @ParliamentofRSA design. How would you like to see indigenous languages implemented as part of the architecture? Incoporating isibheqe indigenous writing system would be ideal. Isibheqe combines indigenous art, colours and shapes and more inclusive.
