I hosted a lunch as a thankyou gesture for ammi's close group of friends who had been there for her ever since Abu's demise. It was a simple menu but worth the effort coz my mama was happy. From planning the menu, cooking, laying the table & then doing the dishes, I did it all!๐

I was admitted to CMH when covid was declared a pandemic. They discharged all patients that weren't critical & vacated the senior officers' ward to convert it into a covid ward and as far as I know, they were treating civilians in both CMH & MH.
In Covid, I remember that not a single civilian was allowed to be admitted in CMHs, the same CMHs that they not only raised on public taxes but now also- in a historical condescending confession- own that they have a sole right to. This is so absurd, I will lose my mind. 1/3

My father gifted my brother a walkie-talkie set when he passed his olevels. He'd give me a walkie-talkie & tell me to act like a commando and go up a ladder to check if the water level in the overhead tank was ok or not. Just realised that wasn't a game, kaam kerwata tha mujhse.

Appreciation post for Rescue 1122 personnel and their prompt service. An injured, exhausted eagle fell in my sister's lawn. She called the Wildlife dept but no one answered so she then called 1122 and they arrived within minutes. Tended to the bird with whatever they could.

Attended a funeral yesterday & now i'm going to a brunch. This made me think that when we aren't the ones who have suffered the loss, we hardly have any second thoughts when it comes to joining someone else's celebrations in the same time frame. Human nature scares me at times!

My nephew will be reporting to his unit tomorrow insha Allah and he gave me a vial of glitter as a parting gift.

Remember my nextdoor neighbour uncle? He's a retired Brigadier and has turned masha Allah 90 today. I bake a cake for him every year. Taking a freshly baked cake and egg & cucumber sandwiches for him. Pray for his good health. He's such a cutie masha Allah!! ๐

On my way back from PMA. Maza hee agaya! I have the AJUO sitting right next to me. He was holding the Pakistan Flag in the parade. Masha Allah! Another baby of mine passed out โค๏ธ Was raining continuously but what an impeccable event!

Orthodox view but I've never been in favour of women working if they don't need to unless you're from a family that suffers financially. Women are supposed to be taken care of and it should never be the other way around because then you'll be expected to earn all your life.

Ammi told me that she prays 2 nafl maghfirat after Maghrib everyday for all those people who have passed away but have no one in this world who'd pray for their maghfirat. No intention to brag of her piety, just loved the idea & wanted to share if you want to do it too! ๐

My cousin whose in the Airforce told me that officers and soldiers who were on sick leaves have cancelled their leaves and reported back and a few of them aren't even feeling 100% okay but none of them wants to stay back.
Can anyone defeat this spirit? No one. Insha Allah!! โค
