@bo66ie29 I was born a decade after decimalisation, but I used to occasionally find 'old money' around the house. I still use phrases like "I wouldn't give a brass farthing", "haven't tuppence to rub together", "taken the King's shilling", etc.

RT @ajcdeane: I'm no fan of Keir Starmer. This may already have been clear. But the attack on him - and the King - for being on a walkabouβ¦

@JeremyVineOn5 Dealing w/ hecklers time honoured occupational hazard for stand up comics & Mr Kay an old hand. If this guy thrown out, because he was disrupting other people's enjoyment. So, yeah, toss him out. People who've paid for tickets want to hear the comic, not you, you numbskull!

@nigelfletcher Listed as 'Olukemi Badenoch' as well. She must feel like she's being told off by her mother. π

@nigelfletcher @TomHulme79 How interesting! I've never seen that before. I honestly thought it was a practice that had died out with his predecessor. I wonder what category of document merits the 'P' and how many other examples there are. I imagine they must be vanishingly rare.

@simonharley @TomHulme79 Here's a rare one. The signature of King George IV as Prince Regent during the reign of his father, King George III. 'George PR'.

@darrengrimes_ Not to be pedantic, but if it was literally the *only* viable gov't, as the wording of your question specifies, then we wouldn't have much choice, would we. It'd be far from my own preference, that's for sure!

@Jenny_1884 Yes, loads of people feel the same. I'm not one of them. I tend to think those people are profoundly silly.

@ElizabethJBond ... Of course, it does show how worthless and ubiquitous such royal connexions are. Makes it all the more galling really that I don't have any! π€£
