This is a direct result of 10yrs of Coalition Govts' neglect. While they overfund private school, public schools remain at 90% of their funding. Unless this is reversed we'll see a deepening inequality and segregation of education, the consequences of which will be far-reaching.

This makes me sick. Only in Australia do we have stories about overfunded private schools crying poor while public schools remain underfunded without any current path to get to the minimum level of funding considered necessary for every child to succeed.

Dear @NSWHealth Noting the frequent references to the importance of returning to face-to-face teaching and learning, could you please advise when teachers might be added to the list of authorised workers? Asking on behalf of thousands of teachers. Thanks.

@MathiasCormann , until 2020, was a member of a government that sought, and continues to seek, the destruction of needs-based school funding denying public schools the minimum funding they need to give every child their best chance in education and life. .../3

“On average, teacher pay has been falling relative to pay in other professions since the late 1980s and this makes it a less attractive profession for high achieving students.” (Secret DoE briefing) Net result? #teachershortage Who would have thunk?

My advice to the Victorian Government was and continues to be that to slow the spread of coronavirus, schools should undertake remote learning for term two. 1/3
