really depends on the stage they catch it at and the type - a lot of times there aren't symptoms until late stages when it's pretty much hopeless
that was not the case with Jobs, his kind and stage was very treatable, but he waited almost a year to get proper treatment

Acid rain & Ozone didn't happen because we mitigated them. The ice caps have lost 40% of their thickness since the 1960s. They are currently melting at an average of 9% per decade.
And aside from oil running out none of those examples are intellectually honest.
