Don't miss out on @iconeighbours 1st report launch. The report is timely. A growing fiscal pressure on the government and an upcoming Spending Review alongside an ambition to achieve a decade of national renewal means that we need a new fresh approach.
Join ICON in launching its first report, The Case for Neighbourhoods, with a panel discussion featuring @AlexJJNorris, Minister for Local Growth and Building Safety, Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government.

As ever, a useful contribution from @GeorgeDibb - agree that we need to think about our economic model, focusing as much as possible on the economic and social challenges in places rather than assuming trickle down/ripple effects from the same old methods.
My analysis of Reeves speech: Growth only matters if people feel the benefits Labour must break with failed growth models that concentrated prosperity in a few places. Success depends on investment stability & green growth reaching every part of Britain.

Make the Conservative Party the party of tariffs again... Voters recognise that global trade is not a level playing field and want the UK to protect domestic industry and agriculture. Leadership needs to listen to people like @NJ_Timothy @danny__kruger et al.

Trump brings new geopolitical realities which Britain must adopt to, but it is sad that @AaronBastani makes a better case for a conservative response than many conservatives do…
On Monday I told a room of people - who broadly disagreed with me - that Britain should not welcome the Trump era. “America first” does not mean “America and Britain first”. That’s the point. We can do better than complete vassalage to U.S. empire.

And yet we are thinking of doing more of this sort of thing..
EXC: Under private finance initiatives, successive UK governments have made payments to private firms which are on average three times the cost of constructing public assets. Research from @NIESRorg and @_maxmosley
