We worked with @georgeinstitute to run a deliberative panel process to develop Sex and Gender Policy Recommendations for Health and Medical Research Incorporating sex and gender dimensions in health and medical research creates better research and improved patient outcomes
Sex and gender affect health - from conditions and symptoms to treatment and outcomes, yet this is often overlooked in medical research, risking optimal patient care. Introducing change typically takes 17 years from theory to translation, but we can’t wait that long. [1/2]

Our congratulations to Robyn Denholm, announced as Chair of the Strategic Examination of Australia’s Investment in R&D, who will join other eminent leaders in this critical review of research and development performance; Emeritus Prof Ian Chubb AC, Prof Fiona Wood AO and Dr Kate Cornick. We also welcome the release of the Examination's Terms of Reference and look forward to seeing this strategic review advance and its outcomes. In particular, we recently called for the investment in R&D as a percentage of GDP be increased to 3% over the next 10 years, and to be underpinned by a strategic plan for public and private sectors to work together to achieve this. @IndustryGovAu
