@ggwash I love that WMATA does this. I left my full time job in April and could see how my travel habits changed radically from a very standard morning-evening commute on Metro to taking more midday trips by bus and rail all over the city. Almost 1,000 miles on public transit, amazing!

@dylanmatt You cannot be serious! We must discuss this. I’m Dartmouth ‘94 and it took me years to stop saying “I’ll blitz you” after I graduated. Amazing!

@charlesallen @wmata @TheSouthwester @ggwash @HillRagDC @ljjanezich Thank you for saving the East -> West bus routes through Hill East! I’ll have to get used to the new names (RIP to the D6 and the 96) but the coverage is substantially the same for me and I hope it is for my neighbors as well.

New statement from Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein: "We respect the traditional independence of the editorial page, but this decision 11 days out from the 2024 presidential election ignores the Washington Post's own overwhelming reportorial evidence on the threat Donald Trump poses to democracy. Under Jeff Bezos’s ownership, the Washington Post’s news operation has used its abundant resources to rigorously investigate the danger and damage a second Trump presidency could cause to the future of American democracy and that makes this decision even more surprising and disappointing, especially this late in the electoral process."

Hey @MayorBowser don’t let NYC outshine us here. Let’s do this for Pennsylvania Avenue and make DC the best city for pedestrians in the country.
Right now, 70% of the people on Fifth Avenue are pedestrians but they can only use less than HALF of the space! That's going to change under the plan we rolled out to completely transform Fifth Avenue into a WORLD-CLASS pedestrian-centered boulevard. Learn more:

@NNilanshh @von4041 @wmata About 80 min total time, 60 ride + 20 walking. But that airport is huge so need to add more time after that to get through security and to your gate. I definitely prefer DCA, but if you have to go to IAD, this is a good (and very cheap) option
