5-0 for .@MemphisSoftball as the Tigers win, 18-9 over Hampton to close the 901 Classic. The impact of this staff led by .@TrenaPrater is shining through every game. Here are some updated stats from the team. The softball program is averaging only 3 strike outs per game so far. Seemingly every stat line has improved for this program and we are only in the first weekend. Memphis has scored 54 runs on 60 hits with 44 runs batted in. The Tigers have 10 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 home runs on the season in 137 appearancesat the plate in 2024. In addition, Memphis has drawn 20 walks while only striking out 15 times. With this, there is aggression on the base paths as Memphis has 9 stolen bases while only being caught 2 times. A team batting average of .438 as well. #WriteYourOwnStory

The University of Memphis Softball program is now 4-0 for the first-ever. In game one, a 3-2 win over Hampton, tonight. In the win, sophomore outfielder, .@neely_taylor12 would finish the night 3-3 from the plate with a double in the 2nd, followed by two singles, in the 4th and 6th. The final one bagger would be key for Memphis. Taylor is leading the team with a .625 batting average. On the season, she has 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 RBI, 2 doubles, 1 BB, and has been caught stealing once (VERY CLOSE PLAY THAT WAS REVIEWED) in 8 appearances at the plate. We also want to mention she is doing all of this after 21 months of missed play.
