Private pilot with a VW camper. Train enthusiast I guess you could say. Modeller with an eye for detail. Occasionally photos of 12 inches to the foot scale too
This was a good project! They look the part - certainly very happy with the result! Coded in C++ and runs through an Arduino Nano.

Gordon 4VEP 3417 and EDs 73109 & 73119 arrive and depart Waterloo. Marvellous day. HUGE congratulations to the SETG and everyone who has worked so hard to get to this point. The unit looks stunning. So special.

Desiro at Exbury End. Too bad I accidentally knocked the layout wires and its pulled them out so the displays and lights are out for the count 🙄 honestly man!

Because they are selfish and have a “me me me” attitude. No one else matters - it’s a “Not my problem” generation, parents passing it onto kids etc etc. A downward spiral and it’s getting worse. Aircraft are left the same way after a flight. Some of the mess I’ve seen as crew…
My tickets for my trip to Bournemouth last week. Bought & printed from the ticket office at Brockenhurst. So much better experience than the machines or even the app. Raj in the ticket office was fantastic - super helpful and friendly, made my day.

What a smashing weekend at the Great Electric Train Show. Huge thanks everyone, that was a lot of fun. Cheers all round!
A selection of photos I got from operating stuff on Gordon’s Lane.

Well, today it happened. The last Stagecoach liveried Desiro, and the last SWT Outer Suburban Blue 450, 450031, left for repaint into SWR livery. This was a massive part of my childhood and I will miss it greatly. But I will always remember it fondly, many happy memories from SWT
The first two repainted 450s re assembled and looking good. Some very light weathering to do and they’re done. Will re assemble the third unit tomorrow.

A few layout photos from a running session yesterday afternoon. First proper ejnning session since ballasting and weathering all the track, a couple of issues which needed adjusting but pretty much there now.
#TMRGUK
Today marks 13 years since the last 3CIG slamdoor ran on national rail (The Lymington Branch). 1497 & 1498 were a huge part of my childhood and I still miss them hugely. Footage from around 2009, which makes me about 6 years old when I filmed these videos. Their legacy lives on
Day 1 at the Great Electric Train Show! I’m helping out on Gordon’s Lane. We were really busy running more trains than Pete, so hardly any time for photos but I got a few throughout the day. I’m up there again today, do say hello if you are there! 444s will be on display.
#TMRGUK
The run for the trains to go into and out of the layout is ballasted and looking good. Bit of weathering on the track and it’ll be nice. I wanted to do a station here but as it’s where I pick up and place down trains onto the track it’s much easier to keep it clear.

In light of this evening’s sad news, a special headboard has been made to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her incredible lifetime of service and achievements.
Sleep well, our Queen.
Work on Exbury End is officially underway, the shells of things are getting done. The shape of the layout is starting to appear from the foam board but nothing is textured and scened yet. Need to get a backscene as well. A long way to go but coming together nicely.

Time to drop the news! This was an interesting project, commissioned by my friend Greg of the BWWMRC and Gordon’s Lane layout. I have done a repaint of 450067 in OO gauge for Greg. It took a while to get right especially doing the artwork for the window figures!
#TMRGUK
SWR branding going on. Once the unit numbers have been placed on these will receive a nice coat of satin varnish to seal everything in and give them a nice uniform finish.

🧵Good evening, I have been busy on the 444s since my last post. I have applied all the transfers - a huge thanks to Rainbow Railways for getting these sorted for me in record time - they are superb, I highly recommend them.
These are now ready for windows. A final layer of varnish to protect them from handling and the paint yellowing over time has been applied.

I got the new 158 upstairs for a quick run around. Nice to see it at some speed on the loft layout. Ballast getting there and getting tops on the platforms as well. Loving this unit!

up on their wheels for the first time. They don’t shape up too badly against the 450s either. Maybe a touch tall but nothing which will be noticeable when out on the layout. I need to get the chassis and bogies painted before fitting the wheelsets properly
#TMRGUK
Paint process complete on the 450s. They will now receive a coat of gloss varnish in preparation for their transfers, following that a coat of satin varnish to seal everything in and finish them off prior to some light weathering.

After an exciting weekend out on the mainline on Gordon’s Lane at the Great Electric Train Show, the CIGs have returned home to the Exbury branch. Here’s some photos of them this week.

Couldn’t help but grab a photo of this
#Class313
and
#Class377
which looked like they were coupled together. Not my area of expertise down here so someone else might be able to advise! I’ll have to do some research 😁
Platform’s looking good. It’s dried a lot faster than I expected - only a couple of tacky places remain. I’ll try and get it detailed by the end of the day. 1497 doing the rounds.
#TMRGUK
A lot of work on the landscaping on Exbury End today. It’s really starting to come together now - hopefully next week I can start getting some colour on it. Green 3CIG 1498 doing the rounds today.

One of my units is on tour! Safely in the hands of
@ZainOnSWR
for a little field trip with
@SW_Help
’s apprentice team. More on it later in the week.

Having a blast with the 73, looks right at home next to the CIGs. Running very well, only a few places it’s not 100% happy but that’s largely down to my old dodgy track work. I’m planning a rebuild of much of the layout this winter though so that should rectify much of it
#TMRGUK
Almost there with the 444 bodyshells. The only thing to do now is drill through the headlights for the LEDs to poke through. Then they are ready for gloss varnish for transfers...
#TMRGUK
Some weathering this evening, finally got round to doing the Bachmann / Kernow SWR 159. Will have a proper photoshoot tomorrow in the daylight.
#TMRGUK
With the weather still pants, it's back to the workbench. This time a small amount of paint correction on the ends of the first 444 to smooth out the lines. Particular attention was paid to the areas where the black meets the yellow.

#ProjectTriple4
A look at a repainted 450
DMOC with the underframe loosely fitted. Just waiting on the numbers for these then will get them all varnished finished off and back together. Those small underframe decal details really make a difference as well looking forward to running them!
#TMRGUK
A closer look at the 444 ends.
Headlight holes drilled, and detailed. This completes the main paint process on the bodyshells, which are now ready to be gloss varnished ahead of transfers.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Southgate Park at the DEMU showcase today. Here’s some photos I got of the layout - and what an outstanding layout it is!
#TMRGUK
Nearly there with these now. I have cut holes in the gangways between the carriages to run the wires for the directional lights through via 4 pin connectors. The bodyshells are now ready for gloss varnish prep for transfers
