The argument goes out the window when Mac people insist you have to have a laptop/portable. For my main machine I always prefer an expansive desktop rig that can take plenty of cheap upgradable RAM and storage, and user upgradable video hardware. The core of a PC is user-upgradable for at least a decade if not more.
