BGE pressure regulator train wreck (which we began resisting in 2021 in our area) is classic example of public entities demonstrating a complete disregard for communities. Nonexistent communication, no proactive engagement, private deals for some areas, and no accountability. 1/2
This is a great outcome for City College students, and for UB. While our son heads to Poly this fall, we were watching all of the renovation plans closely. Great public transit access, great facilities, central location, college partnership--a win for the city and our students.

Demo and construction continues apace here at Bond and Bank. Hugely important project for the community development in East Baltimore. Hoping that the results this time are positive and lasting, and that my kiddos aren't watching another displace/demo/rebuild in sixty years.

Finally and end, and the opportunity for a different path forward, for one of the worst community redevelopment efforts (by conception and execution) in recent memory. Mass demo, wholesale displacement, and unqualified/unaccountable developers are a disastrous combination.
A key part of the Greenway Trails Network is connecting communities to our major city recreation and park resources (Druid Hill, Clifton, Leakin, Carroll). Baltimore Highlands, Greektown, East Highlandtown, Brewers Hill currently lack public park facilities or easy access.
In our budget hearing I asked about the Administration’s commitment to the Greenway Trails.
For Baltimore to become the world class city we deserve, we need a great trail network. This project will dramatically improve the health and vibrancy of our communities.
We need action.
I'm grateful for the good work of the administration and the council on this budget--and particularly for the increased salaries for council staff and housing inspectors. Our government can't effectively and fairly serve our communities without being able to support our staff.

I'd say seven distinct communities on the Penninsula. Otterbein, Federal Hill (N. of Fort Ave.), Sharp-Leadenhall, Riverside, SBIC (South Baltimore), Locust Point. There's a realty-fueled expansion of "Fed Hill" to swallow up Riverside and SBIC. But each still distinct, I think.
We’re not taking anything for granted. Over the next FOUR MONTHS UNTIL THE PRIMARY, I’ll continue to share our vision for Baltimore. We’ll keep knocking on doors and meeting people where they are and listening to YOUR priorities for the city. 2/3
