There are huge numbers who really sacrifice to send their kids to these schools and extra few grand a year for 13 years adds up to a lot. Particularly with suppressed wage growth etc.

I suspect the policy has actually been put together to try and make the independent sector more elitist which can then be used as a pretext for outlawing them.

When a school closes the impact is much more concentrated. As of yet no studies done on how this affected other children’s education with bigger class sizes.

Who has trialed this and what assumptions were made? To bring this in mid year is particularly awful.
