I lived in the middle east for 9 years and one of the things that became abundantly clear was that western media rarely depicted the region like how i experienced it.
uncomfortable truth for a lot of us in the games and entertainment industries:
the decades spent on depicting the middle east as warzones and unchecked militancy rather than the wealth of culture, art, and history in one of the oldest human-inhabited regions in the world
