The issue with most men who start covering women's sports is that they see the athletes they cover as women first instead of athletes first.

I've got to say : I was pretty positive on the NWHL when it first launched because I thought it aimed to solve the problem of not having a US-based pro league. Players I talked to (mostly American) were also very high on the idea, because they'd never been paid before.

I'm going to continue to say this : it's important to have paths for full trans inclusion at ALL levels including elite levels. Trans people should be expected to succeed at high levels as well as amateur ones. Anything else is just passing the buck.
The vast majority of organized sports in the US are played by amateurs, mostly children, with nothing on the line.
Most elite leagues already have standards for how long players have to be on hormones before they can compete.
This is a total nothingburger of an issue.
