I have experience with people w/ dementia. They sleep very little. On the other hand, scientific research shows the brain needs adequate sleep to function properly. In most cases bragging about not sleeping is bragging about poor brain functioning. So follow the (il)logic here.

In my nursing experience, once they stop eating and drinking the end is not far. I certainly hope tho that her blood relatives don't start pouring out of the walls insisting on pointless medical interventions. I would highly recommend getting a referral for hospice from her PCP.

Here are Molly (corgi) and Tatiana Goobus (cute on both ends). T was thrown out of a puppy mill as not breeding quality. M lived in a field w/a pack of other dogs. Owners fed, nothing else but surrendered her when the pack turned on her. In their own ways they're helping me heal.

One of the best dogs I ever had was a little lost soul we found in the parking lot of a convenience store. I passed that store at least 100X, never stopped until the night he happened to show up there. Mr Mustard - what a guy! RIP dear little buddy. 🌈
