Compound interest is a magical thing. I did the maths. $100k invested from 1980 to 2025 in the S&P 500, with an additional $10k invested every year turns that $100k + $450k of deposits in to $12.9m. For that period the S&P 500 compounded at 9.29%. Compounding does wonders whether you like the person or not!
