Glad to announce that I’ve moved to Berlin, Germany and have joined
@Zalando
and
@ZalandoTech
as a Frontend Engineer.
I’ll be working in the Developer Console team empowering developers to build and ship software as fast as possible.

Je souhaite créer un groupe de travail React/JavaScript.
L'idée est de commencer avec un groupe de 5 personnes, nous nous réunirions chaque semaine pour réfléchir à des idées et partager nos apprentissages.

I noticed I’m not connected to many people in the Senegalese tech scene, and I want to change that.
But first, appreciation thread 🧵 for some folks doing great work in no specific order.
Les méthodes de recrutement des entreprises tech au Sénégal sont complètement différentes de ce qui se fait globally.
I literally had to prepare for weeks and go through 8 stages of a recruitment process to land a job abroad.
It’s a completely different game out there.
2022 was definitely a good year for me, a lot of blessings. Very thankful to God for another year, now let's pop the balloons and get ready for the 26th candle inshAllah.
TanStack Table is what I’ve always wanted for a data table library. Simple wiring, hook based, supports many frameworks, and a headless API that offers everything to build powerful data tables.
Ultimately, I think learning English has been more decisive to my career than JavaScript even 😅.
Learning a third language is hard but it’s worth the sweat.
@daoodaba975
- I wanted to give him props for creating and nurturing one of the most significant Senegalese developer communities. There is still a lot of work to be done to foster and enable it but,
@galsendev221
is an amazing start.
@adyngom
- Content creation is not an easy task, it’s time-consuming and tiring. Props to Ady for the great work he is doing in educating folks on web development with Angular. I am not an Angular fanboy but that’s a talk for another day.
@SThiongane
- This guy is special to me, always ready to learn and share knowledge with whoever needs it. His passion for tech led him to start working on
@Yookute_
, which helps Senegalese devs land interesting remote jobs. You should check it out by the way.
@mousstra1512
- He has a vision for the Senegalese tech ecosystem, and it’s been great witnessing him create a hub like Innovation House. Every time I have a convo with him, it’s about how we can give back and foster the community to have more capable developers
@bionik6
- The man is a builder, and we need more of that mindset in the community to shift gears towards more creation and less consumption. I would want to see an open-source project one of these days to help newcomers be able to learn from your experience.
I'm making great progress on this, just finished working on a plugin that creates pages from the UI. Next, I'll focus on editing pages by adding component blocks, configuring SEO, and generating pages from an API.
I’m planning on creating a website builder tool, mainly focused on static pages using SSG. But, I am confronted with the dilemma of choosing an underlying framework to support it.
There is clear discrimination when it comes to these remote roles IMO. It happened to me multiple times when I was job hunting, they always come up with bullshit answers like: we found someone in a more suitable location.
@adonai_nangui
- You won’t see him a lot on Twitter but he is a beast. I always feel more intelligent after a conversation with him, really great at everything web dev.
As developers how can we except to master a programming language without reading it’s specs.
It’s like wanting to cook a special meal without knowing the recipe.

Fun fact:
The world “algorithm” comes from the Latinized version of the name of an influential polymath called
Al -Khwarizmi who lived during the Golden Age of Islam in the Abbasid Caliphate.
2023 was a decent year but I feel like I wasn’t at my best at all.
I felt too comfortable and secure, and didn’t explore avenues to challenge myself professionally.
2024, I’m back on grind mode so expect a lot of stuff.

I usually spend more time browsing through

The app is part of the

I went to see Obama talk about different subjects yesterday.
I’m so amazed about how eloquent the man is. He has that potential to capture you, and really leave you with something to think about after his speeches.
My best productivity hack ever has been getting off Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.
These apps were taking most of my time and with a step back I realize they weren’t bringing any value into my life.
This weekend, I was mentoring my little brother on a deploy. I literally watched him quit his SSH connection because he couldn’t escape Vim on the remote server.
I bursted into laughter after that but overall he did alright 🤣🤣🤣.

S’il y a trop de personnes, ça devient compliqué à gérer mais peut-être on pourra essayer de faire un truc plus inclusif plus tard.

Damn this got more interest than I thought, so if you are interested, you can book a session here.
I'll try to give helpful feedback and share a written review with you at the end.
