What is going on here? It seems architecture of few different centuries have combined to make this wall. Haven’t made a research yet but will try later to see if I can find out anything 🤔

Had a chance to take some interior photos of this magnificent apothecary shop in Haworth. Interior is still has the Victorian glory with antiques and shop fittings.

It was really an exciting opportunity to see this stunning portrait of Elizabeth I from so close as it has always been on far end wall of Long Gallery in Hardwick Hall. Painted in 1598-9 when queen was in her 60s, commissioned by Bess of Hardwick, showing their close relationship
I love all medieval doors, and this one definitely stole my heart! 12c ancient door is one of the greatest witnesses of our history!
Little door inside called Wicket designed for guard to control access better. Anyone with wrong intention, won’t cross it!

Dining room where Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights & Agnes Grey were written. Brontë sisters spent a lot of time here to discuss their writings, happiness & worries. If you can have the room just for yourself for some minutes like I had today, you can still feel their presence 📚✍️❤️

The Ethelbert Gate leading to Norwich Cathedral, dates back to 1316. Built to replace the earlier gate which was burnt down during the riots in 1272.

Ruins of luxurious Roman villa in Chedworth was discovered in 1864 by a gamekeeper out ferreting for rabbits. Villa stool at its greatest in 4th century with many domestic comforts, underfloor heating and two bath houses. Fascinating place to visit. House in the 1pic is a museum

Couldn’t help to visit it again! Enchanting north door of St. Edwards, framed by two yew trees making it look like a door to mythical world.
Stow-on-the-Wolds, Cotswolds
Isn’t it beautiful! This ornately chest dates to 1536 and was found in attic in vicarage. It contained many historic parish papers. Chest apparently, has many similarities to the one discovered from Mary Rose Tudor ship.
St John Baptist church, Cirencester
Mermaid Inn,Rye, built in 1156, current building dates 1420 with later Tudor additions. Stronghold for Hawkhurst Gangs smugglers(1730-40, secret tunnel still there), accommodated many famous people then and now including queen EI.

Charlotte Bronte visited Oakwell Hall and used it as “Fieldhead” in “Shirley”.
Oakwell Hall was built in 1583, it is a beautiful example of Tudor, Elizabethan manor.
Every cottage, every street has some story to tell in Lacock! Quintessential English village with no changes since Middle Ages. A real and beautiful way of travelling to the past.
