Gave my Diamond x200a a new home on the roof. Repurposed the mount from an old satellite dish. Had to drill through the bracket to match it up, but pleased with how it turned out.

@jesx64 Because it took an hour with ChatGPT to get Ubuntu to properly rebind a USB device through terminal commands in order to be recognized, but macOS and Windows identified it correctly on the first try.

Still learning a lot about this antenna and need trying to solve for some of the issues I’m seeing. I’m at a point where I may need to drop the whole thing to check the top tuning rod. Need tips from the #hamradio community on how I can dial this thing in properly.

15m This became notably worse following my other adjustments. I was previously as low as 1.3:1. It’s unfortunate and may require some more tooling around.

20m Also below 2.0:1. I was able to pull the lower end of the band slightly down from where it started by lowering the longer of the 2 tuning rods on the lowest section, but the SWR curve is no longer as smooth as it once was.

40m Originally was an issue as the resonant frequency was outside of the band at 6.9MHz. Based on feedback found online, I’ve temporarily shifted the counterpoise connection point about 20-30” up the antenna. This resulted in a much better match (especially for digital).

80m My requested center frequency was 3.8 MHz. The antenna came in centered around 3.76 MHz. Not a big deal - I’m rarely on 80m. This appears to be near spec with ~130KHz under 2.0:1 SWR.
