I did not inform my college about my off campus placement as I do not owe them anything. I literally got zero support from my college and learnt nothing except writing the code we used to write in class 12th on paper. And in retrospect, I think that It was a good decision as +

it would have been misleading for juniors as they would have promoted placements for the company that does not even visit the college. They did the same for our senior batch as well, took credit for their off campus placement when in reality they provide no support or guidance.
