If you merge its ethnolinguistic and enthnoreligious attributes with its sci-tech attributes, Yoruba would compete with world’s major languages, eg English and mandarin. It has all it takes to be great. People(s) worldwide are ready and anxious for Yoruba. But guess who is never ready for the great Yoruba to dominate the world: the Yoruba of the motherland. One would expect our political and traditional/cultural custodians to champion the mission for greatness. But alas, they don’t seem to be ready. It is even difficult to point out what the Yoruba at home really want, or are doing. We have all it takes to be great, culturally, religiously, politicially, economically, etc. just name it. But our realities at home seem to reflect the opposite. Funnily, our enemies know of our greatness than we do. This is why everybody is trying all they can to grab the land and politics. This is why they are invading our land with variations of propaganda. But I am not going to point fingers at any enemies. Bógiri ò lanu alángbá ò lè wọbè̩. I strongly hope my people at the home wake up and make use of what the universe and the ancestors bestow on us accordingly, and to our own advantage. It is a New age and everyone is now looking inwards for progress. If you don’t look inwards properly, somebody, anybody would come and steal away your inward treasures.
