Trooper Schafer responds to an abandon boat on it’s side, E/B I-90 milepost 173. While on scene, he heard the cry of baby kittens. After a little searching through debris he located 4 baby kittens. They are in good hands and doing well!

: Again, No Serious Injuries. About 20-25 student (UW Band Members) transported to local hospitals as a precaution. The other students & staff were sent on the other charter buses to George Elementary school. They will also be checked out by medics. 56 total on the bus.

Commercial Vehicle Officer Crosby and I pursued this fugitive for 3 miles along the WB 90 shoulder near Kittitas. Fortunately we got expert help from Pep the dog and made a successful capture. No injuries except for tired & sweaty WSP personnel.

Per Moses Lake PD, K9 Chief will receive a police escort from the hospital and is expected to arrive in Moses Lake somewhere between 1230 and 1 pm today. Check the MLPD Facebook page for details:
K9 Chief of the Moses Lake PD was shot through his left eye while pursuing a suspect on Monday. He is doing well though. His Dad says after the removal of his eye, he should be able to go home tomorrow.

Very cool cat.
Our crew from Colville was greeted by this bobcat today along SR 20 near the Beaver Lodge west of Tiger. Plow made a few passes through the area and the bobcat sat and watched (although at times uninterested). Crew hopped out on the final pass and grabbed a few pictures to share.

Ellensburg Sgt Pendt contacted a disabled pickup towing a horse trailer heading back to Texas. He got a hold of our local horse whisperer, Trooper White, who kindly volunteered to keep their 2 horses at her property until the truck is repaired.

: Corrections - There was a total of 6 chartered buses carrying UW band members. The bus that went off the roadway was # 3 in the group. Also, the numbers transported to area hospitals is closer to 40-45 plus.

When WB over Snoqualmie Pass is closed, one of the closure points is Easton (Exit 70). Please don't think you can get by using the Forest Service Roads...you can't. I've had this conversation with many motorists over years during road closures there.
We're all guilty of this way of thinking, "When the Forest Service says most roads aren't plowed in winter, I'm sure they don't mean me in my trusty sedan . . ." PLEASE think again!

Drinking & Driving Don't Mix! District 6 Commander Capt. Huss stopped this aggressively driven vehicle near Wenatchee & arrest the driver for DUI. They were traveling from Chelan to Seattle. The stop likely saved a life! NCWA Troopers have arrested 21 DUI's so far this weekend.

The drivers of these commercial vehicles were cited for driving through the road closure (WB90 MP70 - Easton). Also inspected by Commercial Vehicle Officers, Drivers placed out of service (one for an expired license; the other for being out of hours - had another driver in cab).

"Ursa" went missing last night from her owner near Blewett Pass. Thankfully, she was observed lying in the snow by motorists early this morning. Per Trooper White, "It took a little coaxing to get her to come but a bit of food did the trick". She is now back with her owner.
