If there is anything to learn from The Scouring of the Shire, it is that the truth of the King's reign must be pushed into every square inch of the corners of the world. This is the good work. This is our good work.

Lowe's lady employee: "I like your outfit." Me: "Thanks! It's got a 1940's waitress feel, don't you think?" "Yes, but most women weren't working in the '40's and I'll tell you, when I get to Heaven, if I find the lady who pushed for women to work, I'm going to fight them."

After stoking and refueling the fire, the men and boys of the house just left in 19 degree weather to handle farm chores while I snuggle a cuddly cozy baby on the couch. Is this the patriarchy I was warned about?

Some say we shouldn't gloat over the Dobbs decision. But we shot fireworks and had a block party with our church. We drank root beers and cream sodas and let babies run around barefoot in the grass while big kids enjoyed sparklers. Christians ought to know how to celebrate.

If SBC churches gave a portion of their missions budget to ensuring every child in the congregation could receive a solid and excellent K-12 Christian education (homeschool or private school), it'd pay far more spiritual dividends than giving to NAMB or the ERLC.

Folks who try to reason with a three year old are the worst. Three year olds are, by nature, unreasonable. Spankings, even mild ones, are an excellent way to discipline a child who has a limited ability to reason. Explanations alone are largely ineffective.

Train your little girls in the same modest standard you'll expect from your teenage girls. No wishy-washy standard changes you'll have to defend at some random later date (and probably lose). Establish the norm early: these parts are for showing, these parts are not.

Or try this! Feed your kids well all the time... ...and when they see grandparents, relax and let them be spoiled and you can rest in the knowledge that your kids eat well 99% of the time. Everybody wins!

I’m really frustrated about how grandparents seem to delight in feeding their grandchildren garbage food and ignoring/subverting the parents’ dietary goals.

Is the country life charming? Oh yeah. Does this also happen regularly? Oh yeah.

I live in an outpost of sanity such that I struggle to believe what I read in the news is even real. I'm tempted to just put my nose down and do my work, minding no business outside my little boundary wall But it is this attitude that put the Shire in the gravest danger of all.

Your kids should do something at least every day that they don't want to: chores, schoolwork, manual labor, sharing, etc. And you shouldn't apologize for it, although you could acknowledge that it's hard or unpleasant, but only if it actually is. Makes 'em gritty.

The word "obey" should be taught to very young children and be a part of the household vernacular. Parents should use it, toddlers should repeat it. "Obey Mommy, and put the book away." Or a cheerful, "Be quick to obey!"

This is a screenshot from @CollegeBoard 's AP Classroom platform, featuring questions by College Board for AP Human Geography. The correct answer is France, because they have the lowest birth rate. College Board is teaching your kids a sign of female empowerment=less babies

Apparently women are super liberated and independent and strong and can do anything they set their minds to- until they want an abortion or want to commit adultery, in which case they become victims in record speed.
