We will induct 10 outstanding wrestlers into the HOF on April 18th. Now we need a coach. Who better than Section Ones all time winningest coach and the only coach with a State Champion in both boys and girls competition. Our final inductee is Bob Bernarducci from Pleasantville!

Jacob Cassidy was Coach Will Carano’s 34th Section One Champion which ties him with Joe Amuso Sr. for most All Time. It also gave him 38 State Qualifiers which is now the most All Time.

Bill Swertfager can only be described as a legend in Section One Wrestling. He is a former State Champion who has built one of the premier programs in the State. He has dedicated his life for the past for decades to improving not only JJCR wrestling but the entire section.

Big Day for Section One Wrestling Today as lots of schools will be having their first competition. Whether it’s an official meet, multi meet or scrimmage doesn’t really matter. Just the fact that the kids are out there competing makes them all winners.

We are asking for dual meets only
A wrestler is only in contact with one person for at most 8 min. Wrestlers have been practicing cleanliness and hygiene protocols forever and will adapt more easily than other sports.

NYS Wrestling - Updated 50% rule
The 50% rule has been adjusted to accommodate the current issues we are facing.
The new rule will be 70 - 30% .
This means a wrestler must weigh in 30% of their weigh-ins at the weight they would like to go in the post season.
