YEEK! The first LIVE Wrestle Me! show under a Labour government (tbc) takes place at Kings Place on Sunday 8th September!
And it's over in time for us to head to NOAH in Camden at 3pm (if you fancy it, it's not compulsory).
Will it be GREAT? YES (tbc)
Ticket link below!
Happy 2nd birthday to Pete and my baby. It takes a village to raise a really dumb podcast, so thanks to everyone who's listened and helped make it the healthy, stupid, bouncing idiot show that it's become.
Look what a difference two years (and a lot of ICOPRO) makes!
Big day for Pete and me as we're recording the last shows on Wrestlemania 37 Night 2. It's the end of a run that started in January 2018, racked up 220 episodes, 3 sell out shows and has been the most fun and rewarding thing imaginable. Thanks to everyone who's supported us! x
If you listened to last week's episode of Wrestle Me! (if you haven't, MATE, COME ON), here's the photo from Xfm where Stone Cold Steve Austin looked like he was Pete's proud father. CAN I GET A HELL YEAH (and a DNA test)
With Sting retiring tonight, here he is in Earls Court back in 1991 in a photo my schoolfriend Russell Lyesight took. We were 14 at that show and we're now 47, if you want to get an idea of how great Sting's been for so long. ICON!
Happy 3rd birthday to us! Thanks so much to everyone who's listened and supported us since 2018. Pete and I are celebrating by eating a birthday cake in the shape of the late-1990s Mexican wrestler Virus through a plexiglass partition in a healthcare centre.
Thanks so much to everyone who came to see Wrestle Me! 3 last night at the London Podcast Festival. We had a blast and it was great to meet a lot of you after. THANKS SO MUCH, WE LOVE YOU! Wrestle Us, Marc & Pete xxx
In1991, at the WVW Roar Power tour in London Olympia, my mate Russell had a BANGING camera with a zoom built-in, and he took these of Ravishing Rick Rude (with a young Paul Heyman!) I STILL have a piece of Paul E. Dangerously's phone that he shattered on PN News' head. BONUS: OZ!
ARROGANT KLAXON! We're currently the number 1 wrestling podcast in the UK Apple Podcasts sports chart. We should upload the wrong episode more often. THANKS FOR PUTTING UP WITH OUR SHIT xx
*EXCITEMENT KLAXON*
All six episodes of the brilliant DARK SIDE OF THE RING documentary are now streaming on ALL 4 (Channel 4's catch-up thingy) in the UK.
(Sorry for ruining your evening if you had plans.)
WILL YOU STOP? Yes, but only on main. Last regular ep out today, it's been a blast, thanks to everyone who listened. We'll be going from strength to strength on Patreon from now on. And thanks to
@HeyKidsShop
for the farewell card! Marc and Pete x
Catastrophic phone battery death during RevPro, but not before I got a photo with the two titans sitting behind me, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, the kingpins of Wrestling Observer and two men whom we owe so much credit for wrestling history's preservation. HEROES.
Happy Christmas everyone!
Thanks for supporting Wrestle Me in this horror show of a year, we really appreciate it. We hope you have a great one and WILL YOU STOP
lots of love Marc and Pete xxxx
I'll say this for Britain - after buying tickets online for big wrestling shows in the US, Britain is very much not leading the way in ticket buying technology. Want to choose a seat? CAN'T. Like to see a map showing where the tickets you've been randomly allowed are? GET AWAY.
Pete and I are sobbing, laughing, punching the air, silently mouthing 'namaste' to each other and pointing skyward and saying "this is for you, poppa" (both our fathers are still alive, but it feels right regardless). Thanks legends. HEROES
Came back to see Wrestle Me! has passed 2.5million views on YouTube. Insane! Proves we should have been invited to the AEW presser so I could ask the important questions "Why aren't any wrestlers really fat any more?" and "do you think one day a donkey could be a wrestler?"
It's WRESTLE ME's 1st birthday! Thanks for listening, Meniacs - and why not celebrate our birthday by listening to the old episodes all over again FOR SWEET REVENUE. PLEASE - DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. Marc and Pete x

Pete and I just wanted to say thanks to the beloved UKFF for naming us Podcast of the Year for the 5th year running. These awards are more important than the BAFTAs but receives less mainstream coverage, unforgivably. THANKS CHAMPS x
Thanks so much to everyone who came to see the live show yesterday! It was ACE to get to meet so many of you through the day and we can't thank you enough for your continued support of a show we just LOVE getting to do. BIG HUG, YOU LOT xx

The bird is in the nest. THE BRITISH BIRD IS IN THE AMERICAN NEST, over. It's WRESTLEMENIA week and it starts NOW! Loads of videos and pods for your listening pleasure and everything will be up on the Patreon. Breaking: the Wrestlemanicar is bigger than expected
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Wrestle Me! Hall of Famer
@petedonaldson
! Pete's 40, which, sadly, is the same age as Rick Rude when he died. Sorry to bring the mood down. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME, PETER! xx
Oh mates. MATES. 1000 subs on Patreon. Thanks so much for supporting the show, this is a huge milestone and obviously it's impossible without each and every one of you Pat Patreonsons. Thanks so so much. Pork and beans, Marc & Pete xxxx
In surprising news for two men in their 40s obsessed with fringe entertainment, we've just passed 4 MILLIONviews on the Wrestle Me! YouTube channel, so thank you to anyone who's ever watched! New ep is up now (with secret on-screen cameo from Marc!)
Happy Christmas everyone! Pete and I really appreciate your support for the pod this year, it's been totes humbling. HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BANZAI (Mr Fuji wrote the last bit) x
We're releasing a pod tonight discussing the awful stories dominating the British wrestling scene as a result of Speaking Out (no hashtagging so we don't clutter their feed). It's not the usual show we do - but it's a really important story. PLEASE NOTE --> (1/2)
As a long time reader of the UKFF, to be named Best Wrestling Pod of 2019 by the UKFFers is a proper honour. Genuinely made up. We'll retire the show now but will return in 2025 for one show in Saudi Arabia that ruins your memories of us. THANKS SO MUCH!
Always a treat to write about the world's greatest thing (wrestling) for the
@Independent_ie
. Here's the sad tale of the Von Erich family, containing what's likely to be the only mention of the Freebirds in a quality newspaper this decade.
Listed as "lost media" for years, ITV's Celebrity Wrestling is up on YouTube in full. If you missed it first time round, then now's your chance to make sure you miss it again
Exciting! Pete and my first day as head writers on WWE Raw. We've been given the War Raiders. Even though we were quite drunk and bored in the script meeting, I think you're going to like what we've done!
And with that, our Wrestle Me trip to Wrestlemania is over. Just time to have one last packet of Sweetarts, one last ciggy with Aja Kong and a difficult conversation with an Avis representative. Thanks to all who’ve followed our shows on our Patreon or YouTube!
Sad news about Mean Gene Okerlund - the most inaccurately named man in wrestling, as he seemed lovely. He'll be up in Heaven now, cueing up a short promo from God, while yelling "PUT THAT CIGARETTE OUT!" at any angels who are having an off-camera snout. Godspeed MGO!
A lone stall on Wembley Way boldly representing traditional British wrestling merch, crammed with generic scarves, foam fingers and vuvuzelas. BOW DOWN BEFORE OUR HERITAGE
Absolute dream crowd for Le Backlash - a proper European WWE crowd who understand cheering and booing and have been starved of the opportunity to do it on TV for decades. Magic
The Wrestle Me! crowdfunder is up to buy Kendo Nagasaki's mansion in Stoke on Trent so we can all move in and just watch wrestling together (& credit to the estate agents for including Kendo alongside the Earl of Shrewsbury in the Historical Notes section)
The decision to have Ricochet casually annihilated by Lesnar is so stupid. Like having a Ferrari and deciding to drive it into a canal so that people are reminded of the power of canals
Would you like to have a look at our YouTube channel? Well, it's the perfect time as (a) we've just clocked up 5 million views and (b) the WWE are working their legal socks off to deny Fair Use exists, which it does. So enjoy while you can!
BIG AND EXCITING NEWS (if you don't like getting Wrestle Me! on a Thursday)
FOR ONE WEEK ONLY, we're releasing an episode this FRIDAY!
This is not because we messed up actually, it's because it's COOL to release one episode on a FRIDAY once every 106 weeks, like cool people do
You can say a lot about John Cena - he's great, he's annoying, he's unnervingly obsessed with the military, he's a robot, he toes the Chinese party line - but really this is the key takeaway from his career and it makes him one of the best ever
With people excited over the possibility of a London Wrestlemania today, what could be more on-brand than leading London-based wrestling podcast Wrestle Me being stuck in San Francisco in March 1998, wading through a terrible Bulldog-Mongo match instead? NOTHING!
Patreon 4Life
Our Twitter Space is about to go live, to discuss our NFT project. Despite the critics, our NFTs will be the first ever that can’t lose their initial value 👊🏻
Where it all begins...again. In 3 days, Pete and I are off to Wrestlemania and we'll be covering EVERYTHING live* on the Patreon. To get us in the mood, here's a killer
@hughoverend
video made for the end of the Fabulous Freeloader shows. MOOD!
*Not live
NEW HAYES SIGHTING KLAXON! Is there NOTHING he didn't do? Coverstar of the TV Times. Co-owned Swinging 60s nightclub The Cromwellian. Conservative councillor for Islington. Played football against the Kinks. Cheated out of the NWA title. Huge knob. In a Passolini film. THE GOAT
This Thursday is THE FIRST DAY OF WRESTLEMEMAS!
That means at least two episodes a week until 2020!
Available from all podcast providers, regardless of whether you've been Phineas Go(o)d-win or Johnny B. Badd this year.
Oof, that was much harder than it should have been.
Sad news about Sid Vicious, a man its perplexing that the WWE didn't put into the Hall of Fame in recent years, considering how good he looked in older age. Here's the first time I ever saw him, in one of the greatest matches in the history of wrestling.
CM Punk's return was properly great. What a pop. Great to see so many witty signs. I did get briefly distracted at his missing tooth, which seems like an important tooth to me and I would like him to get it fixed now he's got a big contract
New era on the Wrestle Me! Patreon tomorrow. After 3 years of face-to-face recordings in professional studios, we're doing tomorrow's episode via a 10 year old laptop mic and Pete's house is full of noisy dogs. It'll be the worst show we've ever done. JOIN US TOMORROW!
Samoa Joe on the 210 to Finsbury Park. The me of 2005 could never have imagined this day would ever come (would also have been amazed at the ability to pay with a phone and my future self's wretched physical condition)
And we're off! Head over to for our first tour pod, recorded in Heathrow outside a Bulgari. You know you want it. Also, Marc's brought his camcorder so there's going to be a fair bit of that, too.
WRESTLING IS FOR EVERYONE with the exception of Dr Larry Lovelace, Terry Smith, Mike Bowyer, Mike James, Terry Smith, David Barber and Terry Smith who have forfeited the right to it
NEWS: I have received the minutes from January's Oklahoma Athletic Commission mtg about a "transgender" wrestler (h/t
@RealRasslinUK
)
In regard to Nyla Rose competing, the Commission passed a motion to "warn
@AEW
to not do this again" or there will be "punitive action" taken.
The Money in the Bank bus is still out and about in London two months after the show took place. Begun to see it as a plucky survivor, hope it becomes a tourist attraction, am interested in buying it to live in
We've just got back from Wrestlecon. We did our single annual photo. And it was perfect because it all went wrong for us. All on the next show! (and look at these BEAUTIFUL lads - Mordecai of all people! 10/10)
