There are 23 players in all of Division 1 basketball (358 Teams) averaging 20 or more a game. Your ticket to college ball at any level will be what can you do OUTSIDE of scoring.

3 years ago I was an assistant at Santa Margarita and we were preparing to play Harvard Westlake in the CIF semis… here we are today as a head coach preparing for CIF semis with this team. I love this group and the work they put in over the years and the resilience they’ve shown

I’ll forever stand on this…. Connecting with your players is WAY more important than X’s and O’s. You’ll be surprised how much a player grows and how confident they play when they coach can speak they language.
Coach Prime gave out sunglasses to his players today. I’ve been doing this 33 years. I’ve never seen a coach connect with players like this. Speaks their language. Has the similar playlists. Has an incomparable resume. Excelled on their field & coaching💯

Live period advice🏀.College coaches are pretty good at telling if you have a feel for the game and can score even if you didn’t in the game. They are trying to see what “little things” and intangibles do you have…. And if you can defend.

I played on the Freshman team in High School. Didn’t see the varsity floor much until late sophomore year and became an All Trinity league/All CIF guard by my senior year. From personal experience, trusting the development process is key. Everyone runs a different race. 🏁🤞🏽.

I said it today… the only practice time in college basketball you’re most likely “healthy” is the first day of workouts/practice. You’re going to be tired, hungry, and banged up you’re entire season. That’s where the mental toughness comes in.

My dad was an NBA player/Olympian, my mom was a PAC-12 player, my sister was a Big East player. I went through the NAIA and D3 journey myself. I was an assistant under amazing head coaches from the jump. I’m just trying to pass down everything I learned from all of them to.
