I'm taking student late work from September and October. Have I ever done that before? No. Why am I doing that now? Because we are in a pandemic and my students have been stuck in their rooms on a computer. I am willing to do whatever it takes to help them.

Rode my bike early this morning before church & rode around NCHS at 7:30 am. Grade school families were dropping off baseball players for games at our fields. What are we doing? 8:00 am baseball games on Sunday morning. This can't be the best way of running youth sports.

I had a good friend text me from a Florida high school basketball game he went to. Masks for fans, officials, and coaches. Players didn't wear mask. Fans were spread out. Sounds reasonable. Long term benefits for the student-athletes.

The Ironmen played today at Benet Academy vs Depaul Prep and they used the 35 second shot clock.
It makes the game so much more fun. More strategy, less stalling, and just overall a better game.

The Ironmen boys basketball family is saddened to hear about the passing of Tom Smith. Tom's son, Myles was our captain 2 years ago. Mr. Smith was kind, supportive, and positive to all of us. I'm saddened that Myles lost a great dad. RIP Mr. Smith.

My freshman basketball coach Jeff Millard passed away yesterday. He was a great mentor to me. He benched me freshman year - told me why and told me how to earn it back. He was always honest, kind, thoughtful, and taught us how to win. Truly taught life lessons.

I have had a chance to watch my 3 feeder schools (Evans, Chiddix, Kingsley) play the last few weeks. Thankful that MOST of the teams are playing man to man defense to prepare for high school basketball. That is a huge help to the player as he prepares to play for his H.S.

My 86 year old mom is in a nursing home in Morton - Restmor. Its amazing how many in the Morton community visit- singers, girls basketball team, and people just walk the halls to say hi. Means a lot to her and the others. Thank you!

Thoughts on the Wisconsin-MI game:
1.I always want to get my end of the bench players in the game if possible.They work really hard in practice. Even if it is only 1 possession.
2.Its amazing how many times a team that has not pressed all game decides to press the bench players.

I can't believe how bald the NCHS coach is now.
Normal Community defeats Normal West 57-54 to secure the outright Intercity Boys Basketball title.
Ironmen saw a roughly 12-14 point 4Q lead in the fourth reduced to just 3, but they hung on just long enough.
