@purposeful_pd @Ladybale Researchers are not always good at sharing details of their PPI. In the pod I gave no details of our PPI structure because it wasnt the focus. We have shared this previously, but focusing on training researchers. Maybe we (you & I) should do a PPI pod or open online meeting? 🤔

@purposeful_pd @Ladybale Different immediate missions, yes you're probably right, but the former should meaningfully contribute to the latter. Otherwise there is a big problem! Sharing the same ultimate goal - brings us back to researchers needing people with Parkinson's to inform every stage of research

@purposeful_pd @Ladybale When doing research on topics like this, the real expertise lies with those who experience freezing. Scientists can offer some technical insight & interpretation. Good science NEEDS both, but the best way to organise this probably depends on the nature of the project.

@purposeful_pd @Ladybale Totally agree. This distinction is now emerging in the studies on freezing so it will hopefully become common in the language scientists and clinicians routinely use

@jamesjopling @ExeterBRC @NoSPRIG Alas, no. He may be avoiding me. I will hold on the dream that one day we'll collab' and do a song about psychology and postural control

@Ladybale Thanks, Claire! I love telling that story. It was challenging at the time to change the direction of the research, but I find myself with a big smile remembering the meetings where the new studies were pieced together with members from West London branches. Good times.

@markwilson_psy Do you think people cite my papers to him as often as they sing his songs to me?

@purposeful_pd Great to hear about our work resonating (music to my ears!) but there are many groups doing wonderful and more technically advanced research. Communication needs to improve and the responsibility for this primarily rests with the researchers
