I may seem antagonistic towards osu! staff but it's only because I love the game and want to see it better, peppy is honestly one of the best and most dedicated devs in all of gaming, but sometimes communication breaks down between community and devs and things like this happen.

Mainstream esports and streamers just don't understand that osu! is an esport because the most popular content in the game it just 10* jumpspam. I doubt many of the streamers/journalists that looked into the game even know how rich of a tournament scene there has been for years.
