I still feel Matthew Lillard was the best actor in this movie. He really nailed the role of Shaggy, and it ultimately got him to become Shaggy's official animated voice actor after Casey Kasem retired from the role!
Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne was also pretty hot, too.

In a way, "What's New, Scooby-Doo" was basically a more realistic and modernized version of "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" with the gang as young adults, complete with scatterbrained Fred, vain Daphne, and the frequent poking fun at the Scooby formula.

Funny enough, back in the first season and in the "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" shorts, Wanda was also pretty dim. And Cosmo was only somewhat dumb, compared to later on in the series when he became as dumb as Mr. Turner, and Wanda became a stereotypical nagging wife.

Even as a kid I recognized Simion had the same voice actor as Brain from "Pinky and the Brain" (Maurice LaMarche), even if the voice was more of a Charlton Heston impression than Orson Welles.

Warner Bros. Animation indeed had Zoidberg make a cameo appearance in the 2003 Looney Tunes short "Duck Dodgers in Attack of the Drones." It was part of a short-lived revival attempt at Looney Tunes theatrical shorts, in a manner reminiscent of "What's New, Scooby-Doo?"
