On 5/20/21 at about 9:00pm, officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 12300 block of Slauson. Officers discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second is listed in stable condition.   (562) 567-9286

Suspicious Death Investigation** On May 15, 2021 at about 7:30am we were called to a detached garage at 12336 Pasadena Street about a male adult who was found deceased from a gunshot wound. This Shooting is not random in nature and the investigation is still ongoing.

Today at 3:12 pm, a shooting occurred in the area of Carmenita / Rosecrans in Santa Fe Springs. One subject was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting appears to be gang related. The investigation is ongoing. Any info contact Detective Yoshitake at 562-409-1869

***Critical Missing Adult***Dan Morehouse was last seen at his residence on 10/29/20 at 3pm. On 10/30/20 at 12:13 pm the vehicle was seen in Torrance. He suffers from Parkinson’s disease and early signs of Alzheimer’s. If you have any information contact Whittier PD 562-567-9200

The next National Prescription Drug Take Back will be on October 24, 20. National Take Back Day is a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. The drop off location will be directly to the front of city hall and will be from 10am-2pm

On 9/14/20 at 7:01 pm a motorcyclist was traveling w/b on Whittier Blvd/ Dorland Pl when the Nissan Xterra cut him off. The motorcyclist lost control, crashed and died at the scene. If you have any information contact Jesse Garcia (562) 567-9261 or jegarcia@cityofwhittier.org

Due to construction of a new city sewer main on Mar Vista St at Calmosa Ave, traffic delays are expected from 08/19/2020 to 09/04/2020. Construction hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. To decrease traffic congestion motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

320AM... We are assisting Los Angeles County Fire Department with a brush fire in Turnbull Canyon near Skyline Drive. Canyon is currently closed. Helicopters are being used to combat the fire.
