Champion SONGBIRD elected to the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame. She of course doesn't know any different, but it's a huge honor in the racing world. If only Rick Porter were here to see. ♥️ 🎶🐦
Recognize that bay mare?
She's too busy living her best life and visiting all the best mud spas to pose, but SHEDARESTHEDEVIL has a big announcement- she's expecting a Gun Runner foal in 2024!
Please share your favorite Plum Pretty pictures and memories!
Plum loved to walk straight toward the camera (seeking a hug and scratches). This is one of very few photos of her loose in the field but posing like a queen. ❤️
2011 Horse of the Year HAVRE DE GRACE (2007 - 2023, by Saint Liam - Easter Bunnette, by Carson City)
At Taylor Made Farm on October 12, 2012, soon before selling for $10,000,000; at Timber Town Farm on December 12, 2013; winning the Grade 1 Woodward at Saratoga on Sept. 3, 2011
Songbird and friends were hanging out in the shade yesterday when visited. A smart choice, but it makes getting photos interesting! Mom really just wanted her head scratched, and the Curlin filly was very curious. Hope this satisfies your Songbird cravings just a bit. 😉 ❤️🎶🐦
Someone was having a hard time keeping his front legs on the ground. A side effect of a chilly wind + sunshine on Sunday morning!
A very bouncy Cyberknife colt out of Tapping Colors.
I'll Take Charge produced a beautiful full sister to Charge It over the weekend. Here she is just getting her legs under her, still damp from being born. Go baby go!
Dance Quietly's Justify filly says sometimes you just have to put your foot down about certain things, like the fact that it's rained quite enough this week, thank you very much!
It's lovely watching an experienced mare teach her foal how to nurse. Here, I'll Take Charge very carefully nuzzles her filly to encourage her to move a bit further back and find the milk. She nursed successfully just a minute or so after this!
We're pretty much at the high point of foal yoga season in Kentucky. This little guy has his flow down pat and is demonstrating an excellent "downward facing foal."
#FoalFriday
Have you ever laid down for a nap and gotten all comfy only to have your child, who was previously sleeping soundly, wake up and decide they need a drink?
Graceful Princess and Lady Take Charge would like to say: SAME. 🤣
Horse body language.
The face on the right is called "get away from my daughter," and the face on the left is called "ok, ok, ok, I get it!"
Something funny for your weekend! 😆
Mares, especially maiden mares, put up with A LOT. 😆
Graceful Princess' Into Mischief colt was feeling pretty spicy in today's chilly wind. This is the foal version of "hey mom, look at me!"
Hanging out over the fence with Havre de Grace 23 and his nurse mare Coco, who believes strongly that all the attention and head scratches belong to her.
The greys that start off life chestnut often go through a phase where they look pink in the right light. Melody Lady '23 (Gun Runner) is in that phase now. ☺️
Please join us in congratulating Whisper Hill Farm owner Mandy Pope on her election to The Jockey Club.
Mandy joins six other newly- elected members for 2023, all of whom will be instrumental in leading our sport into the future.
Congratulations, Mandy!
Ok it's not Tuesday, but here's a 2yo name- This baby is now "Colorful Lady," an Into Mischief filly out of Tapping Colors. This little lady's damside goes back to KY Derby winner Winning Colors.
These American Pharoah foals looked so much alike when they were small. Left is now named AMERICAN FLYER (Tapany) and right is PLUM PERFECT (Plum Pretty).
#1
on the list for 2023's coolest mohawk
Will Take Charge x Meadow Way
He's sunbleached- so not quite as buckskin as he appears, but wow is he ever a unique guy.
From day 1 to sale day, Songbird's 2022 Curlin colt has been one special horse. Congratulations and thank you to Grandview Equine on their purchase of this handsome fellow. Big things ahead!
Congratulations to all the connections of Arden's Assault ('20 Violence x Can't Explain), who went gate to wire today at Keeneland to break her maiden by 11 lengths!
