Ghana 🇬🇭 Twitter is blowing up and asking for videos of Trey’s Unicycle World Championship races so here they are (apologies to those who don’t understand Mampruli but you’ll get the gist).
Ghana🇬🇭 cheered for Trey ‘Manboora’ 2yrs ago when he brought home silver & bronze but now he has a 🥇GOLD medal & another 🥉BRONZE from the Unicycle World Championships!
🥇 Stillstand (0-18 Male)
🥉 30M Wheelwalk (17-18 Male)
3rd in Flatland Prelims
X-Style Semifinals qualifier
Trey ‘Manboora’ Haun has been competing over the last week at the Unicycle World Championships. He has more events this week. I believe he will make Ghana 🇬🇭 proud again!
Our

A message of gratitude to
@ghanamuc
, Mamprugu and all of Ghana for their support of their unicycling son Manboora! Gold at the Unicycle World Championships!! 🐘🇬🇭
This is Trey’s incredible Flatland run for Ghana 🇬🇭 at the Unicycle World Championship! He had the 3rd highest score and qualified for the final battles! Watch and be amazed 😃
Ghana has lost yet another historic & cultural landmark due to neglect. The ancient mud mosque at Bole has collapsed. Torrential rains are being blamed but 5 years ago I visited it & wrote an article documenting visible termite infestation in its rafters.
My son Trey competed in the mountain climbing race at the Unicycle World Championships. Over 1km he climbed a steep 134meters on his unicycle. He didn’t win any medals for this race but he won our admiration for attempting such a challenging feat and not giving up!

the rollerblades & skateboard they’ve always wanted. The world is a better place when people put others before themselves.
Here is the second race: 30m Wheel Walk Race (15-16 male), in which Trey took 2nd place silver medal 🥈 for Ghana 🇬🇭 at UNICON20. Video is in Mampruli but I’m just explaining the type of race, the warm-up, my anxiety about him falling and then we celebrate the win.
Speechless. That is what we are. Mamprugu🐘 threw us a festival this weekend in Nalerigu that we never would have dreamed possible. Hundreds attended - children, chiefs, politicians, drummers, fiddlers, musicians, and most importantly: our dear friends. 1/3
🇬🇭 Trey is back at the Unicycling World Championships! Win or lose, he’s proud to represent Mamprugu 🐘and Ghana 🇬🇭 to the world. He will compete in several events over the next two weeks. We appreciate Ghana’s love and support!

Nalerigu is throwing a celebration for Trey this Saturday. He will perform some unicycling tricks and we will have plenty unicycles for the public to try out. We are grateful to the Overlord of Mamprugu for allowing us to hold the event in front of the palace. All are invited.
Trials is a Unicycling competition in which riders try to clear as many difficult lines of obstacles as possible. Trey placed 14th among 50 competitors in the 16+ Male category. Considering he is only 17yrs-old, he did very well indeed! 🇬🇭 Ghana & Mamprugu 🐘 to the world! 🌍
Since winning unicycling medals for Ghana 🇬🇭, Trey has been busy training local kids to ride. Meet Mannel, youngest member of the Mamprugu Unicycling Club.

Several days of heavy rains in Ghana’s North East Region have revealed just how poorly constructed the roads and bridges are. Here are some images I took this morning around Mimima before I couldn’t pass and had to turn around at Sagadugu
We had a great interview today with

@BBC
is the only network that called UNICON to confirm Trey’s medal wins for Ghana. That’s good journalism! After all, we could have been making this all up. 😂
We had our first Unicycling program at a local school back in northern Ghana. It was fun being Trey’s hype man on the mic. The kids loved it and we made sure each and every one got to try to ride (took forever)!

Making Ghana Proud! 🇬🇭
I’m pleased our unicycle videos in Mampruli have sparked people’s interest in the language & culture. If you’d like to see more of the wonderful places & traditions of MAMPRUGU, kindly visit my YouTube channel for videos about Ghana’s North East Region.
Praising God today that I got my wife and in-laws across the river and home safe in Nalerigu. Grateful to the people of Gbani/Tinguri/Gbeduuri for their help crossing on foot at the site of the broken dam and bridge.
Did you know that Ghana's North East Region was once a home to a mysterious ancient civilization 3000 years before Naa Gbewaa ever set foot in the region? It's called the Birimi site and was discovered in 1987 just north of Nalerigu on the path to the Gambaga Escarpment. (1/12)
I’m so proud to announce that Trey is receiving a Head of State Award for Youth Achievement tonight at Jubilee House in Accra! It is so amazing to see his unicycling journey bring him so far and to see all of Ghana’s support and love. 🇬🇭 ♥️

Trey ‘Manboora’ is heading home to Ghana 🇬🇭 from EUC’23 but not after competing in Trials, an Extreme Unicycling sport where you climb and cross challenging obstacles on the unicycle.
Would you try this? I would break every bone in my body! 😂
@GhanaianThe
🙏 We live in Nalerigu and will be presenting the medals to Naa Bɔhagu Abdulai Mahami Sherifa, Overlord of Mamprugu. He is the one who named my son “Manboora” and gave me the title “Sulimiisina’akyinaaba”

I had a blast at my first Nongre Deaya Festival in Bolgatanga. It’s definitely one to check out to experience the ancient traditions & culture of Ghana’s incredible northern peoples.

Local Mamprusi hip-hop artist Sapashini gave a surprise performance at Trey’s celebration party at the palace in Nalerigu on Saturday. The highlight was when he rapped along with a little 8-yr-old in the crowd who knew EVERY line! 😂
As part of Mamprugu🐘achievement, standing for Mamprugu🐘 and weaning a national Cup🏆 for Ghana🇬🇭.

Nalerigu is completely cut off after the Gbani dam burst and washed out the Walewale-Nalerigu highway. It’s gonna be a rough few months as the main paved thorough fare is gone for the rest of rainy season.

As always, Nalerigu’s Damba Festival is the best! I love shooting and participating every year. Not sure why all of Ghana doesn’t come up for it but we’ll keep it a secret so we don’t get overcrowded 😉

We have dedicated the last 8 years of our lives to serving this community in order to demonstrate God’s sacrificial love for them in a tangible way. The outpouring of love from Nalerigu, Mamprugu and all of Ghana 🇬🇭 has touched our hearts and will stay with us forever. 2/3
Ghana, love your wildlife! 🇬🇭 Last year, the NaYiri put a sick & dying African civet in my care for rehabilitation. I’m pleased it is now strong and healthy. I’ve upgraded its enclosure to give it more space & provide a safe, educational viewing area for the

Mamprugu Unicycle Club had its first jersey ceremony to officially induct our newest riders into the club. These kids have each mastered basic riding skills. We now have 14 team members with six more currently in training! 🇬🇭 Making Ghana proud!
I traveled to Southeast Asia for two weeks and ate some delicious food there. However, it was extremely satisfying to get back to northern Ghana and enjoy some steaming hot tuo zafi with spicy ayoyo stew & goat meat! 🤤

It seems lessons were not learned from the Larabanga Mosque collapse which was due to replacing traditional mud plaster with cement. Cement is waterproof and traps moisture in the mud walls causing wood beams to rot & enticing termites to enter. Bole was using cement plaster.
Thank you NaYiri, MbaTarana, Deema Naaba, Na’akyinaaba (all of them), MaNaaba, Gbangkugraana, Mamprugu Saha and the countless others who contributed to the durbar in honor of Trey’s Unicycling World Championship medals for Ghana 🇬🇭.
We love you and God loves you.
