Brazilian businessman turned whistleblower Bruno Lopez de Moura claims that a yellow card received by Lucas Paquetá in the game between West Ham and Aston Villa, on March 12, 2023, would be a "birthday present" for the Hammers brother - who was born on March 12. Bruno was part of a match-fixing scheme that resulted in Operation Maximum Penalty, by the Public Ministry of Goiás (MP-GO). He told the CPI hearing on Tuesday that he made a combined bet on a match between Paquetá and Luiz Henrique, when the former Botafogo player was still at Betis, in Spain. He claims his bet was based on privileged information from Marlon Bruno Nascimento Silva who is known to Lucas Paqueta's uncle. The CPI report indicates that Bruno Lopez de Maura received £13,505 from Paquetá's uncle and was involved in recruiting players for the scheme. During the investigations, the commission summoned Lucas Paquetá but chose not to recommend his indictment.

Matches are well managed as best as possible, ensuring exits and vomitories remain clear. The SGSA praised the positive efforts by the working group in continually working towards tackling persistent standing and encouraged continued collaboration, especially around the lower tiers and block 217. The Chair noted the importance of dialogue, acknowledging that control has to be caveated by the influence of human behaviour and risk factors given the stadium’s multi-event nature."
