The Westglades Middle School band has been busy this month! On December 7th we had out winter concert. It was a festive event and the band did a fantastic job under the direction of our new band director Garrett Sullivan.

Westglades students, the Stoneman Douglas Color Guard Director will be on campus today at 4PM in the band room to meet with students and discuss what being a part of the Stoneman Douglas Color Guard is all about. No experience is needed, 6th, 7th & 8th graders welcome!

Our Spring Banquet was a Shrektastic event! There were awards, lots of celebration, and dancing! Thank you to Mr. Gordon, Mrs. Todd, the Band Boosters, and our sponsors for making the event a huge success!

We are excited to announce that our new band director has been selected. Mr. Sullivan has a bachelor's in Music Education from FAU and completed his internship at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School. We are excited to welcome him to the Westglades Band family!

Last night's Spring Band Concert included some special Star Wars musical pieces and even some props. It's amazing how much they students have improved and grown this school year!

Our Concert Band and Symphonic Band had their Music Performance Assessments (MPAs) this week. 🎶Both bands earned SUPERIOR ratings from ALL judges! 🏅This is the highest score possible. Congratulations to our band students!!! 🌟
