Taking a look at the Megan Basham book, which says I graduated from a PCA seminary (I didn’t, and there’s only one). As a specialist, I judge “generalist” books by how they treat what I know something about. If they don’t get that right, I doubt the reliability of the rest.

Qualifications for the new Pope that would bear most fruit. He should believe that justification is by faith alone, baptism is a sign not a cause of regeneration, Christ is at the Lord’s Supper by memory and faith not physically, the Bible alone has final authority not the pope.

I put Felicity (3yo) to bed tonight. Twenty mins later, I can see that she's turned her light on. I go in and find a book open on her lap. "Sweetie, it's late. It's time to go to sleep." She immediately starts sobbing and says, "I don't want to go to sleep, I want to read!" 😭😊

I disagree with Jürgen Moltmann on what feels like every major Christian doctrine. And somehow, at the same time, few theologians have moved and provoked and inspired me in the way he has. His work is all about the crucified and risen Jesus. RIP.

Reread ++Rowan's book on the Resurrection this wk. When God decided to come back to talk to us after we killed God, the msg was/is: "Peace be with you. Te absolvo. Now go love like you have nothing to lose." It's totally gobsmacking & disquieting & — one hopes — life-changing.
