@Chris62452212 @JohnStossel Walmart has 37 million customers per day, if they round up 2 cents they gain $740,000 per day or $270,100,000 per year. So they would care about gaining a couple of cents don’t you think? I have seen a poor woman buy formula and need the extra pennies on the cash register.

@libertytarian @JohnStossel The cost of production is not its value to society! For the same reason, the Post Office does not make a profit, but it is extremely valuable to society.

@man_your_brooms @JohnStossel Business prices a Cookie for $1, then they have to collect taxes of 7%, and then you owe $1.07. Without pennies, they collect $1.10, and you lose money. Businesses don't care if they collect a few pennies. This is a push for digital-only currency that you never have control over.
