Rarely do you get to see such perfection w/ the structure of a winter storm. Running out of adjectives for this one. Our blizzard has dropped 54 mb's in 24 hours, making it not only a "meteorological bomb," but one of the fastest stengthening winter storms in modern history.

Important note about #Florence : We are dealing with an extremely large and powerful storm. According to the 12z ECMWF, major hurricane winds/impacts will stretch 40-60 miles out, hurricane winds will stretch 100-150 miles out, and TS force winds will stretch 200-250+ miles out.

If the sheer strength and size of the #tornado near Soso, MS wasn’t eye-popping enough, we now have a confirmed second tornado trailing only 30 minutes behind and following a similar trajectory. Both with large debris signatures and tight rotation. Devastating situation.

Becoming difficult to track all these #tornado warned cells over highly populated areas of Ohio, but can‘t overlook what just moved directly over Columbus. Signature not quite as strong as with Dayton cell, but it’s very possible some kind of tornado just moved through downtown.

12z EURO caves to the NAM and GFS, which means that a significant snowstorm is likely for most of the I-95 corridor from Philadelphia thru Boston area. There are mixing concerns along the coast, especially in SE New England, but the trend has been for a widespread, heavy snow.

Our storm is rapidly developing on radar, and #thundersnow is becoming a common scene along I-95 from Philly to NYC. Within the last 20 minutes we’ve gotten in several reports of thunder & lightning in Manhattan. Snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour and gusty winds as well.
