Wednesday's max temp was the coldest in nearly three weeks (18°/Jan. 24), and the 3.5" snowfall measured at the @wwmtnews studio is the highest one-day total so far this year. @JeffPorterWX is tracking another snowmaker heading our way. Catch his LIVE reports through 9 a.m.

WINTER LOVERS REJOICE! Not just one snowmaker (tomorrow), but two! A second storm arrives late Friday with more accumulations likely through Saturday morning. Following that, Arctic air may spawn lake effect snow showers through the middle of next week. Hello, Old Man Winter!

Not much to see in today's #almanac. But, check out the record low set in Kalamazoo on the date in 1912: one of the coldest temps on record. Also, check out the spread between the record high and the record low. At 84 degrees, it's one of the widest you'll find on the calendar.

Check out the beautiful ring around the moon tonight over West Michigan! The ring is from the moonlight being refracted by ice crystals. We're still a couple of days from the February full moon, called the "Snow Moon." Thx to Dana Bridgeforth for the shot, captured in Mattawan.

Today's wind gusts were ferocious in Holland and Muskegon, and pretty stout elsewhere. The wind diminishes rapidly overnight and will not be an issue Friday. You might need to add a layer of clothing because it's going to be cold, despite sunshine developing in the afternoon.
